Aline, a Franco-Cameroonian from Reunion Island, initially embarked on studies in literature and law at 18 but found herself lacking passion for these fields. In 2012, she pursued her dream of becoming an air hostess, obtaining her certification in Paris. However, a pivotal moment came when her father fell seriously ill, prompting her return to her island to support her family. Tragically, after a two-year battle with cancer, her father passed away.
During this challenging time, Aline's mother, Jolie, faced struggles with her business, Couleurs d'Afrique, which suffered while she cared for her husband. Considering selling the enterprise, Jolie was persuaded by Aline to explore other options. Drawing on her lifelong passion for fashion design, Aline proposed creating their own clothing brand. She leveraged Couleurs d'Afrique's social networks to showcase her designs, receiving enthusiastic public feedback.
Together, Aline and her mother embarked on a journey to Madagascar, Cameroon, Kenya, and Ethiopia to establish sewing teams and develop their ready-to-wear brand. Aline gained practical experience in management, marketing, and communication on the job, guided by her mother's stability and expertise. Today, their company thrives, proudly employing individuals not only from Reunion Island but also from Kenya, Madagascar, and Ethiopia.
