IORIYA
NOBUYUKI DOI
Born in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, NOBUYUKI spent his school days in Nagoya, where he encountered the traditional Japanese festival YOSAKOI. There, he learned the depth of Japanese culture and worked on dance performances and costume designs. After working as a dyeing company and a designer, he became a stage costume designer and established "IORIYA".
Currently, he designs costumes that incorporate modern tastes while inheriting the good old cultural taste. He is particular about designs that not only dance and move, but also make use of the wearer's facial expressions. While making the best use of traditional Japanese materials, he aims to integrate and inherit the world's cultures. In addition, he has launched his own dance performance groups throughout Japan. His motto is to aim for coexistence and co-prosperity with trends and old culture, and realize the joy and nostalgia of those who wear them.
